What's Your Digits~Take 3/Proportions Challenge

Who likes giving out there digits?  Hmm? I can recall a time when I was a noobie, and I would spend hours on the dimension scale, believing I had conquered the "perfect" shape. Afterwards, I would go out to meet with friends, all proud of my digit work, only to be asked by friends of mine, uhh, what did you do to her? And....back to the drawing board I would go, of course, this was after stubbornly defending the shape I had worked on for so long. *Side note, I never let my friends know how long I had worked on my shape, but I think they knew.

This is what I think of while participating in Berry's meme for this week called What's your digits? This is her third year of the digit challenge, and I love checking out the photos of avi's to see how we have changed over the past few years. Here is mine from two years ago. Below is this year's photo, and following questions Berry would like us to answer.

Getting back to my first question. I never have a problem giving out any of my digits. But, I have discovered the easiest way in attacking the shape dimension controversy. Buy a shape you like, and when you tweak (which you will) keep it minimal.

Proportions Challenge Questions
  1. Do you try and keep your avatar’s body proportionate and similar to the “average” proportions pictured above?  I didn't add the "average" proportions photograph , but I would say I try to keep my avatars proportions somewhat believable to a womans shape in RL.
  2. What do you dislike the most about the SL avatar mesh? Other than the eyes that seem to be to far sunk into the skull, nothing.
  3. Does it bother you when you see other avatars that are not proportionate at all?  It does not bother me, everyone has there own style. However, I do notice if a shape is extremely not proportionate. In other words, Teeny tiny waists and so wide of hips that it takes the saddle shape out of being curved and looks boxy. Boobs so big with zero gravity, giving the effect of a chin shelf. But, I realize majority of average and good proportions have to do with constant tweaking, which I do, especially with mesh clothing.
  4. Even though this is a virtual world and people can be anything they want to be, do you feel when they are in human form, they should try to keep their proportions close to average? No, because what could be average dimensions on one, could look totally different and sometimes ugly on another avi.  I suppose the bottom line is, this is your virtual world, and your shape can look however and whatever you want it to look like.
